Hi all,

Noticed in the GPR catalogue, there seems to be two types of approval.

1.) BS6658-85A/FR
2.)SNELL SA2005

Can anyone tell me what the difference bewteen these to types is, because the helmet i am looking to purchase is Sparco Formula, which is BS6658-85A/FR approved. Does this mean it's not as good a spec as the Snell approval. Says that it has a nomex lining so must be fire proof. Any suggestions welcome,

Cheers.

I think it gives more guidance in the MSA Blue Book but, as far as i know, the Snell standard is higher than the BS one, which is now the minimum required for UK motorsport.

I know it's expensive but i can't speak highly enough of the Arai GP5k.  I used to have a Bell and it didn't fit too well (tight but i still got stones flicked up into my mouth at more than one circuit - not a good sign!).  The Arai fits perfectly and is lighter.
