With all the discussion going on regarding engine builders (good and bad) on the locost-racing list I thought I'd ask for details on who actually builds a race engine for Locost. So far I have Randall and TMC on my list but who else? Contact details for each would be good aswell.
Cheers

Hi there is Bold engineering who do most of the clasic fomula ford engines all over the world 01204571636.
Ken riley engineering services ltd on 01494883404 Who have done alot of the mini miglia engines in the past.
Andy devine who dose not have a big well known reputation but dose good honest reliable engines and runs a few of the cars in the ginetta serise. I dont have a contact number handy at the mo but ask martin gamblin as he has done his engine.
There are obviously others but they are the ones i can say i have used thier engines and been more than happy with.
cheers matt

Andy Devine did my engine as well, though Martin's done it much better justice than i've been able to
It has slightly different characteristics to the ubiquitous Randall engines in that it has a bit more mid-range torque but is down slightly at the top-end. You get excellent support service and it's quite substantially cheaper than a Randall engine too. I have contact details for him - pm me if you want them.

Yeah Andy had a look at my engine too this year and it certainly helped.
Ok ... it was light night and day compared to before!
Just need to sort the rest of the car out now and who knows ...
Would totally recommend Andy and TMC ...

I use John Lowe for my engine work. John has retired, so he only builds a few engines a year.
I can forward contact details on.
